When he accepted the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney declared that he's looking forward to serving with one who can work to achieve his goals by engaging across the partisan divide and working alongside political adversaries in good faith and common purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th of January 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, Bruce and his family moved in Casper (in the state of Wyoming) which is where his father worked as the director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land conservation districts.
